Law & Order: Organized Crime picks up with Jet Slootmaekers missing -- she's in the trunk of a car belonging to her undercover mark, Seamus O’Meara. Jet repeatedly begs him to let her out but to no avail. Detective Elliot Stabler, Sergeant Ayanna Bell and Detectives Bobby Reyes and Jamie Whelan brainstorm about rescuing their friend. Teddy Silas bursts in, upset that their undercover gone wrong might get him killed by O'Meara's boss Eamon Murphy. Reyes and Whelan lock him in a back room -- but Silas grabs his escape bag and gun.
Elsewhere, Murphy is beating up rival gang member Vincent Morello when Stabler, back in his undercover guise, enters the room. He blames O'Meara for allowing Morello in, throwing suspicion off himself and Silas. He also tells Murphy that O'Meara kidnapped one of his dealers. O'Meara, meanwhile, parks in a dark wooded area and orders Jet out of the trunk at gunpoint. He marches her through the forest to an open grave. Jet tells O'Meara he doesn't want to kill her as he confirms she saved a man's life. This open grave was originally for Morello; O'Meara had also driven him out here to show him his fate and begged him instead to leave town. But, of course, Morello chose to come after Murphy instead. O'Meara isn't just betrayed by Morello -- he's betrayed by Jet, too. She tells him he's a good man and offers him witness protection, saying she'll tell the District Attorney they just took a ride. But when he mulls it over, Jet knocks away his gun and runs. Elsewhere, Silas stupidly takes a cop hostage and flees.
On the road, Stabler checks in with Bell and tells her that Murphy alluded to a dumping ground for killings. The task force arrives at the woods and fan out as O'Meara continues to chase Jet, saying he's a dead man so he might as well kill himself. He prepares to shoot himself and this lures her out. Jet pleads with him not to end his own life. Despite Jet playing a character undercover, the one thing she never lied about was caring for him. But just then the task force pulls up. Jet gets a medical evaluation, after which Stabler tells her O'Meara is out of surgery but still critical. Though Bell and Stabler are worried about Jet, she thanks Bell for trusting her and says she tried her best. Just then, Bell's nemesis Deputy Inspector Thurman shows up to tell her the Organized Crime Task Force sucks and Silas is on the run. After Morello squeals that Jet and the rest of the guys at the bar are undercover cops -- and is mauled to death by Murphy's dog -- Silas bribes a mechanic to cut off his ankle monitor. He's officially fleeing big time as he makes a call to be taken somewhere with no extradition rules.
As Whelan and Reyes track down Silas, Whelan blames Reyes for not securing Silas' gun. Stabler and Jet, meanwhile, investigate O'Meara's apartment for anything that ties him to Murphy. Bell finds a drawing Jet did for O'Meara as well as two one-way tickets to Santa Fe he had bought for the two of them without Jet knowing. He really did want to run away with her. But Bell also finds a pen gun that matches the type used to kill Bell's former partner Jennings.
Silas anxiously awaits his pickup as Whelan and Reyes roll up. Silas soon finds out his ride isn't an escape after all. Jet wants to interview O'Meara, so Stabler comes up with a plan. As Jet watches, he talks to O'Meara himself. He asks him why he tried suicide by cop and O'Meara says it's because he didn't want to hurt Jet. He says he wants to speak to her and Stabler tells him she wants to talk to him too, but she can't. O'Meara has to tell him about the pen gun. Why does he have it? It's his insurance against Murphy.
